Sometimes people that attend our church or who are supported by our church make it into the news. We will put some information and links to share in their wonderful news.

  • The Canadian Cultural Cafe, a weekly activity hosted by volunteers at Huron Park Baptist Church helps Syrian newcomers to Canada. The newcomers come to the cafe to practice English, meet Canadians, and connect with other Syrians.
  • Our 2016 Annual Family Fun Day draws local families together for a day of fun and games in the park. Huron Park and two other local churches came together to offer the free event. Families could enjoy free inflatable games, food and music. You can read reviews of event from the  Woodstock Sentinel Review's or snapd Woodstock.
  • Hannibal Muhtar, director of International Programs at Agricon, hosted 12 agriculture researchers from Mozambique. The visitors came to observe and learn farming methods and management strategies from a variety of farms around Oxford County. The visitors hope to return to home with new knowledge to adapt to the Mozambican environment and culture.
  • Our librarian, Bea Lithgow, was the first user of ResourceMate® Essential Plus, which is library automation software. She was helpful in the design of the software in its early stages. The church library has approximately 4,000 items, including DVDs, books, CDs, and study kits that include several different types of resources. Bea started working in libraries in 1970, when her daughter volunteered her to help with the school library. Click here to read her story.
